About Pastor Kazanjian>>
Dear Sisters and Brothers-in-Christ:
On behalf of St. Paul 's, LDR (Lutheran Disaster Response), and myself, personally, I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. Down here on the Gulf Coast, we are extremely grateful to God for the quiet Hurricane season thus far. Back in March, the projections were for thirty (30) storms!
St. Paul's and LDR continue to work very closely together—we are sharing a husband and wife intern team from Southern Seminary. They are working half-time at the church and half-time with LDR. Both organizations are also continuing to work with other groups to bring recovery to southern Mobile County . To date, we have hosted 32 teams and 406 brothers and sisters at the church. After a quiet September, we are now gearing up for a busy October. We have bookings at the Church into February, but the need for additional teams remains acute. To reserve a date, just call me at 251-401-4247 or Ruth Bloxham, the LDR Site Coordinator, at 251-824-1154.
St. Paul's has also been approved as a Red Cross Shelter and our parishioners have stepped up and are organized and prepared to help in the initial phase of any type of disaster. We thank you all for your prayers and support—both financially and with Mission Teams. We continue to stay focused on the task at hand by remembering the comment made by a Buddhist man to one of our parishioners that he was thinking of becoming a Christian. When asked why, he replied, "because you Christians are the only ones helping anyone."
May our Lord continue to bless you all in very special ways during this Fall season.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Kazanjian
